Amends the Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Administrative Act. Deletes provision that the Department of Human Services shall form a medical advisory panel, appointed by the
Secretary, comprised of 5 physicians licensed to practice
medicine in all its
branches with a special emphasis in treating mental illness, to provide advice
on care rendered to patients in any integrated delivery system. Effective immediately.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
4 | | Section 5. The Mental Health and Developmental |
5 | | Disabilities Administrative Act is amended by changing Section |
6 | | 18.3 as follows:
|
7 | | (20 ILCS 1705/18.3)
|
8 | | Sec. 18.3. Integrated system for services for the mentally |
9 | | ill. The
Department shall develop an effective, integrated |
10 | | system for delivering
State-funded and State-operated services |
11 | | to persons with mental illness. No
later than June 30, 1994, |
12 | | the Department shall enter into one or more
cooperative |
13 | | arrangements with the Department of Public Aid, the Department |
14 | | of
Rehabilitation Services, the Department of Public Health, |
15 | | and any other
appropriate entities for administration or |
16 | | supervision by the Department of
Mental Health and |
17 | | Developmental Disabilities of all State programs for services
|
18 | | to persons in community care facilities for persons with mental |
19 | | illness,
including but not limited to intermediate care |
20 | | facilities, that are supported
by State funds or by funding |
21 | | under Title XIX of the federal Social Security
Act. The |
22 | | Department shall form a medical advisory panel, appointed by |
23 | | the
Secretary, comprised of 5 physicians licensed to practice
