| 2 | | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 1217 on page 11, by |
| 3 | | replacing lines 1 through 6 with the following:

| 4 | | "(225 ILCS 25/54.3 new) |
| 5 | | Sec. 54.3. Vaccinations; immunizations. Notwithstanding |
| 6 | | Section 54.2 of this Act, a dentist may administer vaccinations |
| 7 | | as a public health service upon completion of appropriate |
| 8 | | training on how to address contraindications and adverse |
| 9 | | reactions. Vaccinations shall be limited to patients 10 years |
| 10 | | of age and older pursuant to a valid prescription or standing |
| 11 | | order by a physician. In addition, vaccinations shall be |
| 12 | | limited to influenza (inactivated influenza vaccine and live |
| 13 | | attenuated influenza intranasal vaccine), Tdap (defined as |
| 14 | | tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis), and shingles |
| 15 | | vaccines with notification to the patient's physician and |
| 16 | | appropriate record retention.".
