AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 2727




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2727 as follows:


 
3on page 11, immediately below line 5, by inserting the 
4following:
5    ""Over the counter drug" means a drug that is a personal 
6care product that contains a label that identifies the product 
7as a drug as required by 21 CFR 201.66. An "over the counter 
8drug" label includes:
9        (1) A drug facts panel; or
10        (2) A statement of the active ingredients with a list 
11    of those ingredients contained in the compound, substance, 
12    or preparation.";
and
 
13on page 11, line 12, by deleting "or over the counter"; and
 
14on page 12, line 24, after "product", by inserting ", except 
15for an over the counter drug,"; and

1on page 13, line 1, after "product", by inserting ", except for 
2an over the counter drug,"; and
 
3on page 13, immediately below line 2, by inserting the 
4following:
5    "(e) Effective December 31, 2018, no person shall 
6manufacture for sale an over the counter drug that contains 
7synthetic plastic microbeads as defined in this Section.
8    (f) Effective December 31, 2019, no person shall accept for 
9sale an over the counter drug that contains synthetic plastic 
10microbeads as defined in this Section.".
