| 2 | | WHEREAS, It is highly fitting that the Illinois General
|
| 3 | | Assembly pays honor and respect to individuals who gave their
|
| 4 | | lives in service to their communities; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Brian T. Hauk was a dedicated volunteer for 15 |
| 6 | | years for the Logan Trivoli Fire Protection District; the |
| 7 | | district encompasses 87 square miles in Peoria County and, at |
| 8 | | one time, State Route 116 was the heaviest traveled 2 lane |
| 9 | | highway in the State; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Brian T. Hauk had only been Assistant Chief for 6 |
| 11 | | months when he gave his life in the line of duty on December |
| 12 | | 23, 1997 while responding to a fire call; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Brian T. Hauk was honored at the Firefighters |
| 14 | | State Memorial in Springfield in May of 1998 and, in October of |
| 15 | | 1998, at the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial in |
| 16 | | Emmitsburg, Maryland; therefore, be it
|
| 17 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL |
| 18 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES |
| 19 | | CONCURRING HEREIN, that we designate Illinois State Route 116 |
| 20 | | as it passes through Peoria County from 10300 West Farmington |
| 21 | | Road in Hanna City to 22290 West Farmington Road in Elmwood as |
