SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Joseph I. Leben of Grayslake, formerly of
4Waukegan, who passed away on December 2, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Joseph Leben was born on August 18, 1922, in North
6Chicago; he married Alice Liska on June 22, 1946, in Chicago;
7and
 
8    WHEREAS, Joseph Leben was a veteran of the United States
9Navy, having served during World War II; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Joseph Leben was employed with US Steel-Cyclone
11Fence for 35 years until his retirement in 1976; he finished
12his career at Tenth Street Hardware in Waukegan; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Joseph Leben was a member of Prince of Peace
14Church in Lake Villa; he was also a former member of the North
15Chicago American Legion Sharvin Post, KSKJ St. Joseph Lodge
16#53, the US Steel Retiree's Club, the Korus Social Club, and
17the Norstates Ambassador's Club; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Joseph Leben enjoyed playing golf and fishing; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Joseph Leben was preceded in death by his parents;

1his brother, Stanley; his sister, Margaret; and his grandson,
2Scott Leben; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Joseph Leben is survived by his wife of 66 years,
4Alice; his children, Marilyn (Steven) Rodbro, Kenneth
5(Katherine) Leben, and Gregory (Mary) Leben; his
6grandchildren, Andrew (Tom) Rodbro, Eric (Amy) Rodbro, Matthew
7(fiancee, Laura) Rodbro, and Kristen (Chris) Lybrook; his
8great-grandson, Grayson Michael Lybrook; his nephew, Robert
9Leben; his nieces, Bernice (Bill) Jordan and Carol Leben; and
10his dear friends, Stan and Martha Trygar; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
13his family and friends, the passing of Joseph I. Leben; and be
14it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Joseph Leben as an expression of our
17sympathy.
