SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Marvin Whitney, who passed away on 
4January 19, 2013; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Marvin Whitney was born on June 19, 1935, in 
6Waukegan; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Marvin Whitney served his country with pride as a 
8member of the United States Army; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Marvin Whitney retired from Johnson Motors in 
101997, after 42 years of dedicated service; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Marvin Whitney was an avid Green Bay Packers and 
12Chicago White Sox fan; he also enjoyed constructing Purple 
13Marten Houses; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Marvin Whitney was preceded in death by his 
15parents, Frank Whitney Sr. and Agnes Whitney, and his brother, 
16Frank Whitney Jr.; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Marvin Whitney is survived by his loving wife of 
1849 years, Patricia; his sons, Mark, Jeffery (Elizabeth), and 
19Donald; his granddaughter, Vanessa; and his brother, Robert

1Whitney; therefore, be it
  
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
4his family and friends, the passing of Marvin Whitney; and be 
5it further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to the family of Marvin Whitney as an expression of 
8our sympathy.
