SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Stephen Koper of Beach Park, who passed 
4way on February 7, 2013; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Stephen Koper was born on July 4, 1919, in North 
6Chicago; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Stephen Koper and his wife, Helen, owned and 
8operated Koper Foods in the Old Polish section of North Chicago 
9for 32 years; he served as trustee for Waukegan Township for 17 
10years and was a member and president of the Lions Club; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Stephen Koper enjoyed golfing at Foss Park; he was 
12a big White Sox fan and enjoyed spending time with his family 
13and friends; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Stephen Koper was preceded in death by his 
15parents; his 3 sisters; and one brother; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Stephen Koper is survived by his wife of 70 years, 
17Helen; his sons, Thomas and Steve Koper; his brother, Bob 
18(Diane) Koper; his grandchildren, Mike Koper, Cathy (Dean) 
19Miscenic, Laura (Ralph) Strathmann, Joseph (Carleigh) Koper, 
20Mandy (Shane) Gruchow; his 9 great-grandchildren; and his many

1other relatives and friends; therefore, be it
  
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
4Stephen Koper, and we extend our sincere condolences to his 
5family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
6further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to the family of Stephen Koper as an expression of 
9our deepest sympathy.
