2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of L.A. Wallace of Beach Park, who passed |
4 | | away on January 23, 2013; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, L.A. Wallace was born on December 26, 1935, in |
6 | | Lake Cormorant, Mississippi; his parents were Jesse and |
7 | | Susannah Wallace, Sr.; and
|
8 | | WHEREAS, L.A. Wallace was the founder and operator of North |
9 | | Chicago Black Topping Company in the early 1960s; he later |
10 | | founded the North Chicago Disposal Service; and
|
11 | | WHEREAS, L.A. Wallace was a member of Jesus Name Apostolic |
12 | | Church; he accepted Jesus as his personal savior and was |
13 | | baptized by Elder John Caples; he later re-dedicated his life |
14 | | to Christ under the guidance of one of his nieces, Pastor |
15 | | Debbie Richards; and
|
16 | | WHEREAS, L.A. Wallace is survived by his wife, Doris; his |
17 | | sons, Pastor Melvin R. (Felicia) Wallace, Lamont Wallace, and |
18 | | Casey Wallace; his daughters, Rita Byrd, Wanda (Acey) Derrick, |
19 | | and Salys; his stepchildren, Willie and Dorian; his brothers, |
20 | | Clarence (Willa), Theathra, and Lee (Jimmie); his sister, |
21 | | Elenora Hopkins; and his many grandchildren, |
