SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Jean Demetra Valko of Waukegan, who 
4passed away on January 17, 2013; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Jean Valko was born on March 5, 1922, in Chicago; 
6and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Jean Valko was a former employee of Mandell 
8Brothers and Sears, Roebuck and Co. in Chicago; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Jean Valko was a member of St. Demetrios Greek 
10Orthodox Church in Waukegan; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Jean Valko was preceded in death by her husband, 
12George Valko; her son, James Valko; her parents, Vassilios and 
13Stamatina Petrakis; and her siblings, Andrew (Dona) Petrakis, 
14Esther (George) Christopher, Tom (Magdalene) Petrakis, and 
15George (Mary) Petrakis; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Jean Valko was the loving mother of William 
17(Elizabeth) Valko and Peter (Kathleen) Valko; the dear 
18grandmother of George (Laura) Valko, Andrew (Sara) Valko, 
19Jennifer (Laiq) Azam, and Christopher (Stephanie) Valko; the 
20fond great-grandmother of Alexa, Noah, and Demetra Valko and

1Sulaiman Azam; the dear sister of Chris (Stella) Petrakis; and 
2the fond aunt of many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
5her family and friends, the passing of Jean Demetra Valko; and 
6be it further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to the family of Jean Valko as an expression of our 
9sympathy.
