| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to |
| 3 | | recognize Fox College on its storied history and the |
| 4 | | contributions it has made to the field of higher education; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Fox College was founded in 1932 by Earl B. Fox, an |
| 6 | | educator and former high school principal; his vison was to |
| 7 | | have a small, exclusive school dedicated to producing the very |
| 8 | | best executive and legal assistants; ambitious and motivated |
| 9 | | individuals from the Chicago metropolitan area were accepted |
| 10 | | and extremely high standards were maintained in a highly |
| 11 | | specialized program; graduates possessed strong workplace |
| 12 | | skills and a strong sense of direction, maturity, and |
| 13 | | confidence; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Fox College has gone through changes throughout |
| 15 | | the years just as society has; while the philosophy of high |
| 16 | | standards and educational challenge has remained, the programs |
| 17 | | and curricula have evolved to prepare students to compete in |
| 18 | | the global economy of today; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Last year 75% of Fox College first-time/full-time |
| 20 | | students graduated from their programs; 97% of students seeking |
| 21 | | assistance secured employment in their area of study; |
| 22 | | minorities, including Hispanics, African Americans, and |
