SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Christopher "Chris" Kanis, who passed 
4away on March 21, 2013; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Christopher Kanis served as a Champaign County 
6assistant state's attorney for 8 years; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Prior to his service as assistant state's 
8attorney, Christopher Kanis had worked at various law firms 
9doing civil work and had clerked for the Illinois Supreme 
10Court; and

  
 
11    WHEREAS, Christopher Kanis is survived by his loving wife 
12of 9 years, Laura Steigmann Kanis; his parents, Michael Kanis 
13and Michelle Hudson; his sister, Kathleen Williams (Luke); his 
14nephews, King, Patrick, and Matthew; his niece, Isabel; and his 
15mother-in-law and father-in-law, Robert and Sherry Steigmann; 
16therefore, be it
  
 
17    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
18ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
19his family and friends, the passing of Christopher "Chris" 
20Kanis; and be it further

2presented to the family of Christopher Kanis as an expression 
3of our sympathy.
