SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Dale O. Dobbins of Morton, who passed away on May 1, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Dale Dobbins was born on November 8, 1940, in Peoria to Russell and Helen Clauson Dobbins; he married Leslie Burlison on June 8, 1963, in Peoria; he served in the U.S. Army and graduated from Bradley University in 1963, where he was a member of Alpha Kappa Psi; and

WHEREAS, Dale Dobbins worked for Peoria Distributors of Quality as an accountant and retired in 2005, previously he worked at Baker-Hauser and Sturm Freightways; and

WHEREAS, Dale Dobbins was a member of the South-West Kiwanis, serving as their treasurer for many years; he also served as treasurer of the Central Illinois Youth Symphony for many years; he was a member of United Presbyterian Church in Peoria, where he served as an elder and helped organize transportation for the elderly of the church and was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and Bradley University basketball; he enjoyed model trains and visits from his grandchildren and friends; and

WHEREAS, Dale Dobbins was preceded in death by his first wife, Leslie and his parents; and

WHEREAS, Dale Dobbins is survived by his second wife, Jane Romack, whom he married on November 6, 2004, in Washington; his children Jane (Terrence) Lindsey, Steven (Kim) Dobbins, Cathy (Steven) Stella, and Jim (Emily) Dobbins; his grandchildren, Ross, Owen, Breanne, Michael, Liam, Branden, Abby, Sydney, and Hayden; his brother, David (Pat) Dobbins; and his beloved dog, Maxine; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Dale Dobbins, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Dale Dobbins as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
