| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Timothy Paul Palermo of Wood River, who |
| 4 | | passed away on May 18, 2013; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Timothy Palermo was born on October 9, 1951, in |
| 6 | | Alton; his parents were Paul J. and Marjorie Palermo; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Timothy Palermo served the citizens of Wood River |
| 8 | | for more than 30 years; he began as a laborer on the street |
| 9 | | department before moving on to the water department; he |
| 10 | | subsequently served as Director of Public Works before his |
| 11 | | retirement in 2003; he also served as a member of Labor Local |
| 12 | | No. 338 for 12 years, serving as the union's shop steward; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Following his retirement, Timothy Palermo was an |
| 14 | | active volunteer for several local organizations, with a real |
| 15 | | passion for The Catholic Charities; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Timothy Palermo was honored by the American Public |
| 17 | | Works Association-District 8 Branch Chapter as "Public Works |
| 18 | | Leader of the Year" in 2003; in 1985, he was selected to be a |
| 19 | | member of the Outstanding Young Men of America; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Timothy Palermo was a member of Holy Angels Parish |
