SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of James Frederick Herber of Lake Forest, 
4who passed away on May 14, 2013; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, James Herber was born in Seattle, Washington, on 
6October 8, 1926; he moved with his family to Longmont, 
7Colorado, in 1939; he served in the Army Air Force during World 
8War II with the occupation forces in Germany; he received his 
9degree from the University of Colorado and after graduation 
10served with the Marine Corps in Korea; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, James Herber started his banking career at his 
12father's Longmont, Colorado, bank; he moved to Lake Forest in 
131961 and joined the First National Bank of Lake Forest, which 
14later became Northern Trust Company; he worked there for more 
15than 30 years; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, James Herber owned a historic cottage in Lake 
17Forest and was proud of it and the flower gardens that 
18surrounded it; and
  
 
  
19    WHEREAS, James Herber is survived by his wife, Carrol; his 
20sons, Jon (Barbara), Robert (Annette), and William (Robin); his 
21daughter, Kathryn; his 8 grandchildren; and Carrol's children,

2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
4James Herber, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, 
5friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to the family of James Herber as an expression of our 
8deepest sympathy.
