SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Rabbi Reuven Frankel; and
  
 
4    WHEREAS, Rabbi Frankel was born in Jerusalem; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Rabbi Frankel was the founding rabbi of 
6Congregation B'nai Tikvah, Deerfield, and was the cantor at 
7North Suburban Synagogue Beth El, Highland Park, from 
81970-1979; and
  
 

  
9    WHEREAS, Rabbi Frankel was the beloved husband for 59 years 
10of Penina (nee Ducoff); the loving father and mentor of Hillel 
11(Jennifer Salas), Aaron (Jenny Wittner), and Noam (Laura Sova); 
12the adored Zadie of Eli Blair, Caleb, and Gabriel Frankel, and 
13Lee Sova-Claypool; the cherished brother of the late Naftali 
14(Penina) Frankel, the late Esther Davis, the late Devora 
15Friend, and the late Yafa Flitterman; and the dear 
16brother-in-law of the late Rabbi Bernard (Helen) Ducoff; 
17therefore, be it
  
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
19ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
20Rabbi Frankel, and extend our sincere condolences to his 
21family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
