2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Anthony Vernon Fick of McHenry, who |
4 | | passed away on June 30, 2013; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Anthony Fick was born in Chicago on June 25, 1949, |
6 | | to Oscar and Geneva (Sobieski) Fick; he graduated from Grant |
7 | | High School in Fox Lake in 1967, where he was all-conference in |
8 | | football and wrestling and a member of the varsity band |
9 | | (saxophone), thespians, a cappella, and student council; he |
10 | | attended Merchant Marine Academy and graduated from Carthage |
11 | | College in 1973 with a degree in elementary education; he |
12 | | married Mary O'Laughlin on June 27, 1987, at Grace Lutheran |
13 | | Church in Richmond; and
|
14 | | WHEREAS, Anthony Fick received his insurance license in |
15 | | 1974 and served the McHenry County area for 39 years; he |
16 | | coached pee wee football in McHenry and defense at Marian |
17 | | Central High School; and
|
18 | | WHEREAS, Anthony Fick was a member of Shepherd of the Hills |
19 | | Church in McHenry and a former member of the Jaycees and the |
20 | | Moose Lodge; he enjoyed playing golf, chess, and cards and was |
21 | | an avid Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan; and

1 | | WHEREAS, Anthony Fick was preceded in death by his parents |
2 | | and his sister, Patricia Catalano; and
|
3 | | WHEREAS, Anthony Fick is survived by his wife; his |
4 | | children, Matthew (Julie) Fick, Shannon (James) Darling, Sara |
5 | | (Daniel) Bowman, Kristie (Joseph) Demayo, and Sandra (Jamie) |
6 | | Gladish; his brothers, Oscar (Jeanie) Fick, Curtiss (Sherri) |
7 | | Fick, and Michael (Mary Ellen) Fick; his sister, Bonnie (Craig) |
8 | | Stratton; his grandchildren, Raegan, Kaitlyn, Austin, Logan, |
9 | | Ryann, Miles, Daniel, Arabella, Nathanial, Edward, William, |
10 | | Arthur, and Shea-Leigh; and numerous nieces and nephews; |
11 | | therefore, be it

12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL |
13 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
14 | | Anthony Vernon Fick, and extend our sincere condolences to his |
15 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
16 | | further

17 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
18 | | presented to the family of Anthony Fick as an expression of our |
19 | | deepest sympathy.
