| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Frederick William Noble of Woodstock, who |
| 4 | | passed away on July 8, 2013; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Frederick Noble was born on September 6, 1925, in |
| 6 | | Richmond to Fred and Edna (nee Smith) Noble; he served his |
| 7 | | country in the United States Army from 1943 to 1945, serving in |
| 8 | | England, France, and Germany; he married Rae Carlson on |
| 9 | | September 4, 1949, in Woodstock; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Frederick Noble worked as a machinist for Arnold |
| 11 | | Engineering and was shop steward and a member of the |
| 12 | | International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers |
| 13 | | Local 1832 until his retirement in 1993; prior to that he |
| 14 | | worked as a mechanic and on the North Western Railroad; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Frederick Noble was a lifelong member of the |
| 16 | | Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and was the VFW Honor Guard |
| 17 | | Commander for many years; he was commander of VFW Post 5040 |
| 18 | | from 2008 to 2009; he was a member of AMVETS, the National |
| 19 | | Rifle Association, and Centerville Centerfire Collectors; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Frederick Noble enjoyed fishing, hunting |
| 21 | | pheasant, plants, watching the wildlife in his yard, and |
