SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Michael Casey of Naperville, formerly of 
4Downers Grove, who passed away on July 3, 2013; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Michael Casey was born on February 28, 1928, in 
6County Kerry, Ireland; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Michael Casey was a co-founder of Mike's Meat 
8Market in Villa Park, Casey's Market in Western Springs, and 
9Casey's Foods in Naperville; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Michael Casey was a Rotarian in Villa Park for 
11over 20 years and a Past President of the West Suburban Irish 
12American Club; he was a member of the Amalgamated Meat Cutters 
13Union Local #1546; he was also a longtime member of St. Joseph 
14Catholic Church in Downers Grove and a member of St. Margaret 
15Mary Catholic Church in Naperville; and

  
 
16    WHEREAS, Michael Casey was the beloved husband of Jane (nee 
17Concannon) King and the late Sarah (nee Kelly) Casey; the 
18loving father of Maureen (Ken) Stachowicz, Sheila (Fred) Coha, 
19Dan (Jill) Casey, Christine (Patricia Jordan) Casey, Kevin 
20Casey, David (Gail) Casey, Patricia (Steven) Jung, and Margaret 
21(Mark) Wiecek; the adored grandfather of 19 grandchildren; the

1cherished great-grandfather of 13 great-grandchildren; the 
2devoted son of the late Daniel and Katherine (nee Sullivan) 
3Casey; the dear brother of Ted Casey, Mary Dwyer, Kathleen 
4Ahern, Eileen John, and the late Sean, Christie, Denny, Sheila 
5and Margaret; and the fond uncle of many nieces and nephews; 
6therefore, be it
  
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
9family and friends, mourn the passing of Michael Casey; and be 
10it further
  
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
12presented to the family of Michael Casey as an expression of 
13our sympathy.
