SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Daniel R. "Danny" Lomelino of Girard, who 
4passed away on July 19, 2013; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Daniel Lomelino was born on October 2, 1949, in 
6Springfield; his parents were Stanley R. and Betty Lou (Garst) 
7Lomelino; he married Pat Matuska on May 24, 1975, in Girard; 
8and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Daniel Lomelino graduated from Virden High School 
10in 1967; he served his country as a member of the United States 
11Army during the Vietnam War; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Daniel Lomelino was a member of the Virden Fire 
13Department for over 30 years; he served as assistant chief of 
14the department for 25 years until his retirement in 2012; he 
15was also a member of the Virden Dive Team; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Daniel Lomelino was a co-owner of Lomelino's 
17Welding in Virden and a member of the Hendricks Motor Sports 
18"Old Style Drag Racing Team"; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Daniel Lomelino was preceded in death by his 
20mother, Betty Lou Lomelino; and

1    WHEREAS, Daniel Lomelino is survived by his wife, Pat; his 
2father, Stanley R. Lomelino; his brother, David A. (Christine) 
3Lomelino; and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
6family and friends, mourn the passing of Daniel R. "Danny" 
7Lomelino; and be it further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to the family of Daniel Lomelino as an expression of 
10our sympathy.
