SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Marlene J. Arvidson of McHenry, who 
4passed away on August 13, 2013; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Marlene Arvidson was born on February 9, 1938, in 
6Chicago to Irving and Mary (Walther) Keller; she married John 
7F. Arvidson at Saint Paul's United Church of Christ in Crystal 
8Lake on December 9, 1961; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Marlene Arvidson worked as a school crossing guard 
10for the McHenry Police Department and then as a cook for 10 
11years with School District 156, retiring in 1991; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Marlene Arvidson was a member of the local 
13parent-teacher organization and the Martha Society and Mary 
14Circle at Saint Paul's United Church of Christ; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Marlene Arvidson was a collector of angels and 
16enjoyed crafts, knitting, crocheting, and gardening; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Marlene Arvidson was preceded in death by her 
18parents; her brother, Robert Horyn; and her brother-in-law, 
19Rolla Pratt; and

1    WHEREAS, Marlene Arvidson is survived by her husband of 51 
2years, John; her son, John Eric Arvidson; her grandson, Justin 
3Arvidson; her sister, Eleanor Pratt; and her brother, William 
4(Betty) Horyn; therefore, be it
  
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
7Marlene J. Arvidson, and extend our sincere condolences to her 
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it 
9further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to the family of Marlene Arvidson as an expression of 
12our deepest sympathy.
