| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Robert M. Lete of Alvin, who passed away |
| 4 | | on August 5, 2013; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Robert Lete was born on April 17, 1927 in Belgium, |
| 6 | | Illinois; his parents were Eli and Catherine (nee Nora) Lete; |
| 7 | | he married Jean Pettice on October 2, 1954 at St. Patrick's |
| 8 | | (now Holy Family) Church in Danville; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Robert Lete graduated from Westville Township |
| 10 | | High School in 1944; in May of 1945, he enlisted in the United |
| 11 | | States Navy, where he served aboard a minesweeper on the West |
| 12 | | Coast in anticipation of the invasion of Japan; he was |
| 13 | | honorably discharged from the service in 1946; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Robert Lete was employed by Bohn |
| 15 | | Aluminum/Heatcraft Corporation in Danville for 37 years until |
| 16 | | his retirement in 1992; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Robert Lete was preceded in death by his parents |
| 18 | | and his sister, Lorraine Carpenter; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Robert Lete is survived by his wife, Jean; his |
| 20 | | son, Jeffrey (Thelma Acree) Lete; his daughters, Laura Jean |
