| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Samuel Parker of Beach Park, who passed |
| 4 | | away on August 2, 2013; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Samuel Parker was born on February 17, 1924 in |
| 6 | | Burdette, Arkansas; his parents were Lonnie and Aree (Branch) |
| 7 | | Parker; he married Gussie Lee Bonner in 1942 in Catron, |
| 8 | | Missouri; in 1944, the couple moved to Illinois, where they |
| 9 | | lived in Zion, Waukegan, North Chicago, and Beach Park; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Samuel Parker was employed with American Motors in |
| 11 | | Kenosha, Wisconsin for 41 years; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Samuel Parker devoted his entire life to the |
| 13 | | service of his Lord, his family, his friends, and his |
| 14 | | community; in the 1960s, he joined Christian Valley Missionary |
| 15 | | Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and an associate |
| 16 | | minister; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Samuel Parker was preceded in death by his son, |
| 18 | | Charles Parker; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Samuel Parker is survived by his wife, Gussie Lee |
| 20 | | (Bonner) Parker; his sons, Samuel, Philip, Dennis, Lonnie, |
