SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Philip H. Weber of Edwardsville, who
4passed away on August 15, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Philip Weber was born on April 27, 1928 in
6Edwardsville to Bernard H. and Florence L. (nee Kriege) Weber;
7he graduated from Illinois State University in 1950 and served
8in the United States Army as a Second Lieutenant during the
9Korean War; he married Patsy J. Ohl on January 24, 1954 in
10Edwardsville; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Philip Weber was a licensed funeral director and
12the 3rd generation Weber to operate Weber Funeral Home in
13Edwardsville; he retired in 1990; he taught business and
14driver's education at Edwardsville High School from 1955 to
151959 and also drove a school bus for the district; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Philip Weber was member and former President of
17the Edwardsville Jaycees and the Edwardsville Rotary Club; he
18received the Rotary Club's Paul Harris Fellowship Award; he
19served as Chairman of the Board of Directors at Cloverleaf
20Savings Bank and was a Board Member for over 35 years; he was
21also a 58-year member of the Sunset Hills Country Club, where
22he enjoyed playing golf and bridge; and

1    WHEREAS, Philip Weber was preceded in death by his parents;
2his wife, Patsy; his brother, William B. Weber; and his sister,
3Josephine Weber; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Philip Weber is survived by his sons, Steven P.
5(Silvia) Weber and Michael D. (fiancee Jane Helms) Weber; his
6grandchildren, Brook D. (Christopher) Stutz, Danielle E.
7Weber, Michael J. Weber, and Julia N. Weber; and his
8great-grandchildren, Conner P. Stutz and Avery R.
9Longoria-Weber; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Philip H. Weber, and extend our sincere condolences to his
13family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Philip Weber as an expression of our
17deepest sympathy.
