| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Philip H. Weber of Edwardsville, who |
| 4 | | passed away on August 15, 2013; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Philip Weber was born on April 27, 1928 in |
| 6 | | Edwardsville to Bernard H. and Florence L. (nee Kriege) Weber; |
| 7 | | he graduated from Illinois State University in 1950 and served |
| 8 | | in the United States Army as a Second Lieutenant during the |
| 9 | | Korean War; he married Patsy J. Ohl on January 24, 1954 in |
| 10 | | Edwardsville; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Philip Weber was a licensed funeral director and |
| 12 | | the 3rd generation Weber to operate Weber Funeral Home in |
| 13 | | Edwardsville; he retired in 1990; he taught business and |
| 14 | | driver's education at Edwardsville High School from 1955 to |
| 15 | | 1959 and also drove a school bus for the district; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Philip Weber was member and former President of |
| 17 | | the Edwardsville Jaycees and the Edwardsville Rotary Club; he |
| 18 | | received the Rotary Club's Paul Harris Fellowship Award; he |
| 19 | | served as Chairman of the Board of Directors at Cloverleaf |
| 20 | | Savings Bank and was a Board Member for over 35 years; he was |
| 21 | | also a 58-year member of the Sunset Hills Country Club, where |
| 22 | | he enjoyed playing golf and bridge; and
