| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Earl Edward Duffy of New Lisbon, |
| 4 | | Wisconsin, formerly of Crystal Lake, who passed away on August |
| 5 | | 19, 2013; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Earl Duffy was born on November 30, 1937 in |
| 7 | | Chicago to Eugene and Mabel (nee Corbeil) Duffy; he married |
| 8 | | Sharon Ackman on September 2, 1961 in Crystal Lake; he served |
| 9 | | in the United States Army during the Korean War; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Earl Duffy was the longtime owner of Day's Septic |
| 11 | | Service in Crystal Lake; following the sale of his business, he |
| 12 | | worked for the Village of Lakewood as head of maintenance; he |
| 13 | | was a lifelong resident of Crystal Lake until his retirement |
| 14 | | when he moved to New Lisbon, Wisconsin; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Earl Duffy was a Moose Junior Governor for the |
| 16 | | International Moose County Lodge 1993, a member of the Crystal |
| 17 | | Lake Jaycees, and co-founder of Boy Scout Troop 210 in Crystal |
| 18 | | Lake; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Earl Duffy enjoyed spending time with his |
| 20 | | grandchildren and his adopted beagle, Stanley; and |
|

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Earl Duffy was preceded in death by his parents; |
| 2 | | his brothers, Eugene and Gerald Duffy; and his sister, Barbara |
| 3 | | Tietjens; and

| 4 | | WHEREAS, Earl Duffy is survived by his wife, Sharon; his |
| 5 | | children, Pamela (Doug) Dewey, Cheryl (Ted) Spanbauer, Nanci |
| 6 | | (Brian Dermont) Duffy, and Eugene (Susan) Duffy; his |
| 7 | | grandchildren, Alex, Danny, Peyton, Taylor, Joshua (Ashlee), |
| 8 | | Amber, Tyler, Charity, Dylan, Harley, and Lisa; his |
| 9 | | great-grandson, Ashton; his brother, Raymond (Linda) Duffy; |
| 10 | | his mother-in-law, Elsa "Mary Ellen" Ackman; his nephew, Jason |
| 11 | | (Jamie) Ackman; and his niece, Kerri (Chris Williams) Ackman; |
| 12 | | therefore, be it

| 13 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL |
| 14 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 15 | | Earl Edward Duffy, and extend our sincere condolences to his |
| 16 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
| 17 | | further

| 18 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 19 | | presented to the family of Earl Duffy as an expression of our |
| 20 | | deepest sympathy.
