SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Paul Rosenberg; and

WHEREAS, Paul Rosenberg was an ardent supporter of Jewish education in Chicago; he was an honorary president and a 12-year Past President of Associated Talmud Torahs of Chicago, and served on the organization's board for many years; he was also a member of the Hebrew Theological College Board of Directors and chaired the building committee for the Ida Crown Jewish Academy; and

WHEREAS, Paul Rosenberg was an active member of the Jewish United Fund; he was a member of the JF Jewish Education Committee and served as chair of the Jewish United Fund Congregations Division, the Miami Snowbirds, and the event at Congregation Ezras Israel in West Rogers Park; he also served the organization as a Campaign Special Advisor and a Golden Giver; and

WHEREAS, Paul Rosenberg was the beloved husband of Doris (nee Raskin) for 69 years; he was the loving father of Mark (Elaine) Rosenberg, Ira (Debra) Rosenberg, and Sharon (Seymour) Gertz; the proud grandfather of Nadine (Nosson) Czako, Erica (Gershon) Fiedler, Kenneth Rosenberg, Aliza (Brad) Olswang, Ariella (Rabbi Mordechai) Loiterman, Adina Rosenberg, Sheila (Dr. Jonathan) Resnick, Stanford (Mashie) Gertz, and Stacey (Avi) Zanjirian; the cherished great-grandfather of 27; and the dear brother of the late Anne (the late George) Rosin, the late Sam (the late Lill) Rosenberg, the late Harry (Sadie) Rosenberg, the late Abe (the late Selma) Rosenberg, the late Label (Eileen) Rosenberg, and the late Gordon Rosenberg; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Paul Rosenberg; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Paul Rosenberg as an expression of our sympathy.
