| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Carolyn Ann Greene Axt of Peoria, who |
| 4 | | passed away on September 30, 2013; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Carolyn Axt was born on September 29, 1929 in |
| 6 | | Peoria to Howard and Margaret (nee Turnbull) Greene; she |
| 7 | | graduated from Peoria (Central) High School in 1947 and from |
| 8 | | the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana in 1951, with a |
| 9 | | degree in Journalism, where she was Alpha Chi Omega; she |
| 10 | | married Don Axt on November 1, 1958; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Carolyn Axt worked for Thompson Advertising and |
| 12 | | CILCO (now Ameren); and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Carolyn Axt was a member of the Westminster |
| 14 | | Presbyterian Church, serving as Deacon and Elder; she was |
| 15 | | active in the Methodist Hospital Service League, the As You |
| 16 | | Like It Club, and the Fine Arts Society; she served on the |
| 17 | | board of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, the Kickapoo |
| 18 | | Council of Girl Scouts, the Friendship House, and the |
| 19 | | Westminster Infant Care Center; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Carolyn Axt was preceded in death by her parents; |
| 21 | | her sister, Mary Barbara (Richard) Faville; and her brother, |
