| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Christine "Nelly" Freund of McHenry, who |
| 4 | | passed away on September 28, 2013; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Christine Freund was born on August 1, 1921 in |
| 6 | | Ashippun, Wisconsin to Charles Edward and Mary (nee Mauer) |
| 7 | | Allen; she married Orville B. Freund on May 13, 1944 at Saint |
| 8 | | Peter Church in Kenosha, Wisconsin; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Christine Freund was a homemaker and always |
| 10 | | provided a lovely home for her family; she was a loyal friend |
| 11 | | and enjoyed monthly lunches with members of the card club of |
| 12 | | which she and her husband were a part; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Christine Freund was a member of Saint Mary Church |
| 14 | | in McHenry; she belonged to the Catholic Order of Foresters and |
| 15 | | the Christian Mothers; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Christine Freund was preceded in death by her |
| 17 | | husband of 63 years, Orville; her sisters, Evelyn Allen and |
| 18 | | Mary Ann (John) Bohat; her brothers, Ethan, Clifford, Elanson |
| 19 | | (Josephine), Robert (Vera), Charles (Carol) Allen, and Bill |
| 20 | | (Mary) Mauer; and her son-in-law, John Steven Turner; and
|

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Christine Fruend is survived by her daughters, |
| 2 | | Darlene Freund, Terri (Tom) Widhalm, and Donna (the late John) |
| 3 | | Turner; her grandchildren, Dave (Cindy) Widhalm, Mark (Lynn) |
| 4 | | Widhalm, Mary (Justin) Smith, Tony, Matt, and Beth Widhalm, |
| 5 | | John (Jennifer) Turner, and Christopher Turner; her "adopted" |
| 6 | | grandchild, Prital Brahmbhatt; her 17 great-grandchildren, |
| 7 | | Jessica and Jenna Turner, Ava Widhalm, Melissa (fiance Jon |

| 13 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 14 | | Christine "Nelly" Freund, and extend our sincere condolences to |
| 15 | | her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it |
