SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Susan Ann Lemon McNeely of Jacksonville,
4who passed away on October 1, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Susan McNeely was born on May 24, 1950 in
6Jacksonville to Claude R. and Elizabeth (nee Duncheon) Lemon;
7she attended Our Saviour School, Routt High School, and
8Southern Illinois University at Carbondale; she married
9Charles E. McNeely on April 16, 1977 in Jacksonville; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Susan McNeely worked early on for the State of
11Illinois as a caseworker and later worked for many years as a
12substitute teacher at the Ivan K. Garrison Center; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Susan McNeely was a lifelong member of the Church
14of Our Saviour; she enjoyed flower gardening, cooking, shopping
15with her sisters, and caring for family; she was an avid Saint
16Louis Cardinals fan and took many trips to see them play; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Susan McNeely was preceded in death by her
18parents; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Susan McNeely is survived by her husband, Charles;
20her sons, Adam (Katherine) McNeely, Justin McNeely, and

1Christian McNeely; her granddaughter, Paige Elizabeth McNeely;
2her siblings, Geralyn (David) Merritt, Robert A. (Stacy) Lemon,
3Mark A. Lemon, Laura (Joe) Beets, and Claudia Lemon; her nieces
4and nephews, John Merritt, Lauren Manegio, Micca Donohoo, Brock
5Lemon, Nicole Beets, Elizabeth Beets, Andrea Cairo, and Brooke
6Beets; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Susan Ann Lemon McNeely, and extend our sincere condolences to
10her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Susan McNeely as an expression of
14our deepest sympathy.
