SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Marlene A. Shields (nee Franz) of 
4Waukegan, who passed away on November 20, 2013; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Marlene Shields was born on July 26, 1934 in 
6Waukegan to Robert and Marie Franz; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Marlene Shields retired from the Outboard Marine 
8Corporation in Waukegan after 32 years; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Marlene Shields enjoyed spending time with family 
10and friends and polka dancing with her husband; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Marlene Shields was preceded in death by her 
12parents; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Marlene Shields is survived by her husband of 62 
14years, Eugene; her children, William (Marie) Shields, Sharon 
15(Hugh) Smith, and Kathleen (David) Wendricks; her 7 
16grandchildren; her 11 great-grandchildren; her sister, Donna 
17(Edward) Bukantis; and her brother, Robert (Jane) Franz; 
18therefore, be it
  
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL

1ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
2Marlene A. Shields, and extend our sincere condolences to her 
3family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it

5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6presented to the family of Marlene Shields as an expression of 
7our deepest sympathy.
