SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  James R. "Jim" Holt, who passed away on 
4November 3, 2013; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, James Holt was born on May 24, 1934 in East Alton; 
6his parents were Thomas Raeford and Agnes (nee Iberg) Holt; he 
7married the former Jeanne Fudurich on April 12, 1958 in Wood 
8River; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, James Holt served his country as a member of the 
10United States Army; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, James Holt served as a letter carrier for the 
12United States Postal Service for 30 years until his retirement 
13in 1989; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, James Holt served as a Trustee of the Village of 
15East Alton for 24 years; he was a board member of the Wood 
16River Levee and Drainage District for 15 years; he served as a 
17school board member for East Alton District #13; he was also a 
18member of the Knights of Columbus, a member and past President 
19of the East Alton Senior Citizens Club, and a member of Alton 
20Eagles Aries 254; and

1    WHEREAS, James Holt served is survived by his wife, Jeanne; 
2his daughters, Elizabeth Kay (Jonathan) Moles and Stacy 
3(Phillip) Tierney; and his grandchildren, Hannah and Heather 
4Moles and Phillip and Kathleen Tierney; therefore, be it
  
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
7family and friends, mourn the passing of James R. "Jim" Holt; 
8and be it further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to the family of James Holt as an expression of our 
11sympathy.
