| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Betty Marie Leslie, who passed away on |
| 4 | | November 30, 2013; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Betty Leslie was born on September 2, 1934 in |
| 6 | | Coldrum County, Minnesota; her parents were Edgar William and |
| 7 | | Marie Cecilia (nee Korll) Anderson; she married Albert J. |
| 8 | | Leslie on July 11, 1960 at Our Lady of the Lourdes Church in |
| 9 | | Little Falls, Minnesota; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Betty Leslie spent her childhood on the Minnesota |
| 11 | | farm and went on to study music at the MacPhail School of Music |
| 12 | | in Minneapolis, Minnesota; she brought her love of music to |
| 13 | | McHenry County and was active in many local organizations over |
| 14 | | the years, including the Woodstock Opera House, the McHenry |
| 15 | | County Chamber Singers, and the McHenry County Youth Orchestra; |
| 16 | | and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Betty Leslie and her husband were active members |
| 18 | | of the Resurrection Parish; she was also a frequent volunteer |
| 19 | | at the First Way Life Center of Johnsburg; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Betty Leslie was a devoted mother; she enjoyed |
| 21 | | traveling and visiting her children in far-off places, such as |
