SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Emilia Sotomayor of Waukegan, who passed 
4away on October 5, 2013; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Emilia Sotomayor was born on May 8, 1933 in 
6Arecibo, Puerto Rico; she had lived in the Waukegan area for 60 
7years; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Emilia Sotomayor retired from Abbott Laboratories 
9after many years of service; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Emilia Sotomayor was preceded in death by her 
11husband, Alfonso Sotomayor, Sr.; and

  
 
12    WHEREAS, Emilia Sotomayor is survived by her sons, Alfonso 
13(Isamary) Sotomayor, Jr. and Ramon Sotomayor; her 
14grandchildren, Janel Sotomayor and Janysa Sotomayor; her 
15great-grandchildren, Sean Conner, Jr., Jailene Conner, and 
16Jordan Nedanovski; and her sister, Eleanor (Luis) Sotomayor; 
17therefore, be it
  
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
19ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her 
20family and friends, mourn the passing of Emilia Sotomayor; and
