| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Therese L. "Trixie" Morrissey of Alton, |
| 4 | | who passed away on December 26, 2013; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Therese Morrissey was born on June 7, 1929 in |
| 6 | | Chicago to Clifford and Sarah Woodbury; she attended Monticello |
| 7 | | College in Godfrey (now Lewis and Clark Community College); she |
| 8 | | married Edmund Miller Morrissey on November 27, 1948 in |
| 9 | | Chicago; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Therese Morrissey, along with her husband, |
| 11 | | developed and grew Morrissey Construction Company into one of |
| 12 | | the area's leading construction firms; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Therese Morrissey had a passion for art throughout |
| 14 | | her life and was involved in many clubs and organizations; she |
| 15 | | was a life-long member of Saint Ambrose Parish in Godfrey; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Therese Morrissey was preceded in death by her |
| 17 | | husband of 62 years, Edmund; her parents; and her siblings, |
| 18 | | Jane Northway, Barbara Burdick, and Cliff Woodbury, Jr.; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Therese Morrissey is survived by her children, |
| 20 | | Edmund (Patricia) Morrissey, Michael (Linda) Morrissey, |

| 15 | | M.D.; and many nieces, nephews, and countless friends; |

| 17 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL |
| 18 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 19 | | Therese L. "Trixie" Morrissey, and extend our sincere |
| 20 | | condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved |
| 21 | | her; and be it further
|
| 22 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 23 | | presented to the family of Therese Morrissey as an expression |
| 24 | | of our deepest sympathy.
