SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  James Francis "Jimmy" Mitchell of 
4Wilmette, who passed away on January 9, 2014; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, James Mitchell was a native Chicagoan and a 
6long-time fan of the Chicago Cubs; in 1977, he graduated from 
7St. Patrick High School, where he was the first wrestler 
8inducted into its Athletic Hall of Fame; he subsequently earned 
9his bachelor's and master's degrees from Northwestern 
10University; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, James Mitchell was preceded in death by his 
12mother, Maxine (nee Miller), and his sisters-in-law, Debbie and 
13Kathy; and

  
 
14    WHEREAS, James Mitchell was the devoted and cherished 
15partner of Kristen Poplar; the proud father to Dante and Luca 
16Mitchell; the loving son of Thomas Francis; the loving brother 
17of Tommy (Patty), Sheila (Mel) Loftus, Mary Beth (Mike) 
18O'Connor, Michael, Timothy, John, Dennis (Val), Anne (Billy) 
19Gentile, and Megan (John) Moroney; and the uncle of 31 nieces 
20and nephews; therefore, be it
  
 
21    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL

1ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
2family and friends, mourn the passing of James Francis "Jimmy" 
3Mitchell; and be it further
  
 
4    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
5presented to the family of James Mitchell as an expression of 
6our sympathy.
