2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Patricia Ann (nee Robinson) Irons of |
4 | | Decatur, who passed away on February 5, 2014; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Patricia Irons was born in Chicago on November 2, |
6 | | 1952 to Julius Anderson and Mattie (nee Johnson) Robinson; she |
7 | | graduated from Wendell Phillips Academy High School and she |
8 | | married Steven Irons, Jr.; and
|
9 | | WHEREAS, Patricia Irons retired from the Clinton Nuclear |
10 | | Power Station in 2002; and
|
11 | | WHEREAS, Patricia Irons was a member of Church of Christ |
12 | | North Jasper in Decatur where she was involved in several |
13 | | areas, including serving as Church Information Announcer; she |
14 | | had a love of performing and had been a member of the RCC |
15 | | Players, an original member of "Phenomenal Women", a member of |
16 | | the African-American Community Theatre, and founder and |
17 | | President of the Decatur Power Drillers; she was a past member |
18 | | of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored |
19 | | People, a mentor for Dove, Inc.'s Re-entry program, and the |
20 | | drill team coach for the Decatur Power Drillers; and
|
21 | | WHEREAS, Patricia Irons was preceded in death by her |

1 | | husband and by her parents; and
|
2 | | WHEREAS, Patricia Irons is survived by her daughters, |
3 | | Darsonya (Ted) Switzer, Traci Moore, Je'Taun Irons (Lloyd), |
4 | | Stephanie (Andre) Horne, and Nichole Irons (Glendale, Sr.); her |
5 | | sister, Sandra Robinson; her grandchildren, Steven, Domonique, |
6 | | DiAndria, Antoneo, DaMecia, Taelor, LaTajia, Laraven, Edwin, |
7 | | Kamen, Erieca, Caprea, Nicholas, Jazmine, DaeLin, Torrica, |
8 | | Glendale, Jr., and Ava; her great-grandchildren, Ariauna, |
9 | | Joseph, Julian, Journee, D'Laijia, Kylin, Kaydon, Jacari, Ira |
10 | | III, and Ilyana; her sister-in-law, Penny Murray; her |
11 | | brother-in-law, William E. Irons; her nieces, Michelle, |
12 | | Danielle, and Elaan; her nephews, John, Germaine, and Jerel; |
13 | | her great-nephew, Darian; a host of family and friends; and a |
14 | | very special extended family, the Decatur Power Drillers; |
15 | | therefore, be it

16 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL |
17 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
18 | | Patricia Ann Irons, and extend our sincere condolences to her |
19 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it |
20 | | further

21 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
22 | | presented to the family of Patricia Irons as an expression of |
23 | | our deepest sympathy.
