SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Marie McCafferty of North Chicago, who 
4passed away on February 27, 2014; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Marie McCafferty was born in Carrollton, Alabama 
6on August 2, 1931 to Leola and Morris Woods, Sr.; she attended 
7Spring Hill Elementary School in Alabama and graduated from 
8Pickens County High School; she married Hugh McCafferty on May 
926, 1952; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Marie McCafferty moved to North Chicago and worked 
11for Abbott Laboratories for 25 years; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Marie McCafferty was a member of First Corinthian 
13Missionary Baptist Church; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Marie McCafferty was preceded in death by her 
15husband; her parents; 2 brothers, Clyde and Levert Woods; and 2 
16sisters, Wilda Wright and Johnnie B. Horton; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Marie McCafferty is survived by her brother, 
18Morris Jr. (Tracy) Woods; her goddaughter, Angela Norwood; and 
19a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends; therefore, 
20be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
3Marie McCafferty, and extend our sincere condolences to her 
4family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it 
5further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to the family of Marie McCafferty as an expression of 
8our deepest sympathy.
