SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Kathleen "Kay" R. Rolando of Farmington,
4who passed away on April 26, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Kay Rolando was born in Farmington on November 21,
61929 to Dave Settles and Alita Louella (nee Davis) Berdine; she
7graduated from Farmington High School in 1947 and married
8Rudolph "Bud" Rolando on February 10, 1952 at the First
9Presbyterian Church of Farmington; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Kay Rolando started working for the Central
11Illinois Light Company in Peoria; she then worked at the Bank
12of Farmington for nearly 40 years, serving as the first female
13cashier; she served as a board member of the Fulton County
14Housing Authority for 14 years and on the Farmington Library
15Board for 15 years; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Kay Rolando was an avid golf enthusiasts and
17long-time member of the Canton Country Club; she enjoyed track
18and field and traveling across the State with her husband
19following track and field events; she also enjoyed swing
20dancing, 1940s music, and playing pinochle and bridge; she was
21a member of the Rebekah Order of the Oddfellow Lodge in
22Farmington, serving as Past Noble Grand's of the Lodge; and

1    WHEREAS, Kay Rolando was preceded in death by her husband
2of 57 years, Bud; her parents; and her brother, Wes Settles;
3and
 
4    WHEREAS, Kay Rolando is survived by her son, Anthony "Tony"
5V. Rolando; daughter-in-law, Diana (nee Dillard) Rolando;
6grandson, Matthew Charles; granddaughter-in-law, Leah (nee
7Mandrell) Rolando; and great-grandchildren, Carter William and
8Audrey Elizabeth; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Kathleen "Kay" R. Rolando, and extend our sincere condolences
12to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be
13it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Kay Rolando as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
