SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Ann McHugh of Naperville, who passed away on April 5, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Ann McHugh was born in Howth, Dublin, Ireland on October 9, 1925; and

WHEREAS, Ann McHugh was an active member of St. Raphael Church, where she was a Eucharistic Minister, sang in the Resurrection Choir, and visited the homebound; she was also involved in the Council of Catholic Women; and

WHEREAS, Ann McHugh was the devoted wife of 54 years of the late Deacon John McHugh; the loving mother of Denis (Shannon) McHugh, Aidan Patrick McHugh, Conor McHugh, Ann Marie (Kevin) Shanahan, and Catherine Rose (Eric) Hoagland; the cherished grandmother of Katie and Karen McHugh, Kathleen and Michael Shanahan, and Emma and Hugh Hoagland; the dear daughter of the late James and Annie O'Connor; the sister of Paddy O'Connor and the late Jimmy (Bernie) O'Connor; and the adored aunt of many; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Ann McHugh, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Ann McHugh as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
