SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Louis Enke of Bunker Hill; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Louis Enke was born on April 12, 1919 in Bunker
5Hill; his parents were Louis G. Enke and Rose (nee Strecker);
6he married Pauline (nee Bertels) Enke on November 16, 1947 at
7Emmaus Lutheran Church in Dorsey; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Louis Enke was a graduate of Bunker Hill High
9School; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Louis Enke worked as a dairy, swine, and grain
11farmer for many years; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Louis Enke served his country as a member of the
13United States Army during World War II from 1942 to 1945; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Louis Enke was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of
15Bunker Hill; he served in numerous leadership positions,
16including Treasurer, Financial Secretary, Trustee, LLL
17Representative, dart ball player, and the Men's Club, Kiwanis,
18and MJM Electric Cooperative boards; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Louis Enke was preceded in death by his parents

1and 5 siblings, Lydia Weidner, Adele Enke, Darlene Hammond,
2Frank Enke, and Marian Enke; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Louis Enke is survived by his wife, Pauline; 3
4children, Daryl (Sherri) Enke, Shirley (Rod) Maxwell, and Wayne
5(Tina) Enke; 9 grandchildren, Jennifer (Brian) Wilcoxson,
6Laura (Travis) Brown, Kari Enke, Hannah (Dan) Slimer, Sarah
7(Matthew) Lewis, Noah Enke, Kyle Maxwell, Beth (Chase) Kahl,
8and Haley Maxwell; and 8 great-grandchildren, Aidyn, Kyle, and
9Reagan Wilcoxson, Adelyn and Levi Slimer, Keren and Naomi
10Lewis, and Kinley Brown; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
13family and friends, mourn the passing of Louis Enke; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Louis Enke as an expression of our
17sympathy.
