SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Eddie George Richter of Waukegan, who 
4passed away on March 31, 2014; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Eddie Richter graduated from the University of 
6Illinois and served 4 years in the United States Air Force 
7during the Korean War; and
  
 
  
8    WHEREAS, Eddie Richter sold insurance with State Farm and 
9was widely recognized as the friendly State Farm insurance 
10agent who advertised with his picture in TV Guide for 40 years 
11until his retirement in 1995; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Eddie Richter was a State champion handball player 
13and loved his Saturdays at the YMCA playing fiercely fun, 
14highly competitive matches with his friends; he also loved golf 
15and was proud of the 6 hole-in-ones  he had made; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Eddie Richter was a member of First Christian 
17Church, where he was an elder and board member, and the Rotary 
18Club of Waukegan, where he was a past-President; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Eddie Richter is survived by his wife of 61 years, 
20Doris (nee Nibbe); sons, Jeffrey Richter, Randall (Susan)

1Richter, and Scott (Katy) Richter; daughter, Rhonda (Rod) Wood; 
210 grandchildren; and 4 great-granddaughters; therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
5Eddie George Richter, and extend our sincere condolences to his 
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
7further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to the family of Eddie Richter as an expression of 
10our deepest sympathy.
