SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Margaret E. Hagglund of Gurnee, who
4passed away on April 3, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Margaret Hagglund was born in Grayslake on July 9,
61929 to Edwin and Maude Hall; she married Bert L. Hagglund on
7April 16, 1949 and they settled in Gurnee; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Margaret Hagglund worked as a bookkeeper for many
9years until she retired in 1992; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Margaret Hagglund was a very active member of her
11community; she served lunches at the park district, worked
12booths at the Lake County Fair, and always provided baked goods
13for fundraisers; in 1997, she and her husband were honored as
14Gurnee Days Honorees and a tree was planted in their name at
15Viking Park; she was a member of the Gurnee Community Church
16and enjoyed playing cards, socializing with friends, tending to
17her roses, spending time with family, and passing on her
18husband's Swedish family traditions; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Margaret Hagglund was preceded in death by her
20parents, and by her husband; and

1    WHEREAS, Margaret Hagglund is survived by her children,
2Debbie (Ron) Hagey, Curt (Kathy) Hagglund, and Lori (Jim)
3Seefeldt; her brothers, Edwin Hall, Jr. and Bill (Katy) Hall;
410 grandchildren, Jenny Killian, Sheri Hagglund, Jana (John)
5Tilleman, Julie (Michael) Triggs, Carrie (George) Liakas,
6Jamie (Matt) Greene, Megan Hagglund, and Michael, Lauren, and
7Alyssa Seefeldt; 7 great-grandchildren, one due in August;
8several nieces and nephews, and countless friends; therefore,
9be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Margaret E. Hagglund, and extend our sincere condolences to her
13family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Margaret Hagglund as an expression
17of our deepest sympathy.
