SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  James "Jim" Wheeler of St. Charles, who 
4passed away on April 22, 2014; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, James Wheeler was born on May 14, 1945 in Peoria; 
6his parents were James E. and Marion Wheeler; he married his 
7loving wife, Patti, in 1975; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Following high school, James Wheeler earned his 
9bachelor's degree in education from Western Illinois 
10University; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, James Wheeler proudly served his country in 
12Vietnam and was awarded a Purple Heart, among other medals; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, James Wheeler was the PGA Golf Professional at 
14Pottawatomie Golf Course for over 30 years until his retirement 
15in 2011; he also proudly coordinated the area's Toys for Kids 
16Program in conjunction with the Salvation Army; and
 
17    WHEREAS, James Wheeler was preceded in death by his 
18parents; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, James Wheeler is survived by his wife, Patti; 2

1daughters, Amy Lyn (Mark) Macechko and Kimberly Ann (Matthew) 
2Prall; 5 grandchildren, Abigail, Matthew, Kaylyn, Molly, and 
3William; a sister, Carol (Charles) Zindel; 3 nephews, Kevin, 
4Keith (Sue), and Evan; and 3 nieces, Debbie (Mike), Chelsea, 
5and Mary Sanford; therefore, be it
  
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
8family and friends, mourn the passing of James "Jim" Wheeler; 
9and be it further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to the family of James Wheeler as an expression of 
12our sympathy.
