SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Rena Lee (nee Woods) Brown of Joliet; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Rena Brown was born in Spring Creek, Tennessee on
5May 27, 1923 to B.F. and Ida (nee Christopher) Woods; she was
6educated in the Spring Creek Public School System and married
7Jimmy D. Brown on November 28, 1942; and
 
8    WHEREAS, In September of 1946, Rena Brown and her husband
9settled in Joliet; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Rena Brown was a long-time member of Mt. Zion
11Baptist Church; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Rena Brown was preceded in death by her parents; 6
13brothers; 7 sisters; her infant daughter; and former husband;
14and
 
15    WHEREAS, Rena Brown is survived by her children, James
16(Naomi) Brown and Renella Brown Foster; one brother, Floyd
17(Margie) Woods; 3 grandchildren, Charmyn (Jeffrey)
18McCallum-McCarthy, Derrick (Karla) Brown, and Danielle
19(Christopher) Withers; 8 great-grandchildren, Krystina and
20Heather Kirkwood, Angela (Travis) Stevens, Sterling-James and

1Aris Brown, and Ryan, Addison, and Logan Withers; and one
2great-great-grandchild, Jordan Mayes; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5Rena Lee Brown, and extend our sincere condolences to her
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
7further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Rena Brown as an expression of our
10deepest sympathy.
