| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of James E. Martinez, who passed away on May |
| 4 | | 8, 2014; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, James Martinez was born on July 7, 1935 and was a |
| 6 | | life-long resident of Waukegan and Gurnee; he graduated from |
| 7 | | Waukegan High School in 1953 and played semi-pro basketball for |
| 8 | | Posner's; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, James Martinez began his moving career at |
| 10 | | Mordhorst Moving, retiring from Lake County Movers; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, James Martinez enjoyed playing 16" softball for |
| 12 | | many years and was known as "The Legend"; he also enjoyed |
| 13 | | playing cribbage; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, James Martinez was preceded in death by his |
| 15 | | parents, Cinto and Mildred (nee Mordhorst) Martinez, and by his |
| 16 | | in-laws, Anton and Marie Nagode; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, James Martinez is survived by his wife, Dianne |
| 18 | | (nee Nagode); 4 children, Traci (Anthony Scarlata) Martinez, |
| 19 | | Michael (Brook) Martinez, Jeanne (Dr. John Segreti) Martinez, |
| 20 | | and Sandra Martinez; granddaughter, Stephanie Martinez; |
