SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Kenneth W. Mendyk, Sr. of McHenry, who
4passed away on July 18, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Kenneth Mendyk, Sr. was born in Chicago on June
620, 1939 to Frank and Anne (nee Oros) Mendyk; he served in the
7United States Navy from 1956 to 1960 aboard the USS Roanoke; he
8married Laura Jeffrey on November 18, 1960 in Maywood; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Kenneth Mendyk, Sr. worked for Goodyear for 37
10years as an auto technician and training instructor; after
11retirement, he worked at Obie's RV part-time; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Kenneth Mendyk, Sr. enjoyed camping, woodworking,
13and tinkering with everything; he was active with St. Mary
14Catholic Church; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Kenneth Mendyk, Sr. was preceded in death by his
16parents; a nephew Stephen Holmes; sisters-in-law, Francis
17(Joe) Hausner and Maxine "Chic" LaMagdeline; brother-in-law,
18Chuck Jeffery; and parents-in-law, Alice and Charles Jeffery;
19and
 
20    WHEREAS, Kenneth Mendyk, Sr. is survived by his wife,

1Laura; his children, Kenneth, Jr. (Patricia) Mendyk, Deborah
2(Robert, Jr.) Struve, and Michael (Jennifer Ruby) Mendyk;
3grandchildren, Michael, Scott, and Kristina Mendyk, Derek and
4Samantha Struve, and Gillian and Alexander Mendyk;
5great-grandchildren, Braedon and Evelyn Rose Mendyk; his
6sister, Gerri Holmes; 3 brothers, James (Kathleen) Mendyk, John
7(Joann) Mendyk, and Danny (Sharon) Lord; sister-in-law, Arlene
8(Wayne) Kloepfer; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog,
9Max; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Kenneth W. Mendyk, Sr., and extend our sincere condolences to
13his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Kenneth Mendyk, Sr. as an expression
17of our deepest sympathy.
