SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Luke A. Sloman of Girard, who passed away 
4on August 2, 2014; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Luke Sloman was born on July 8, 1986 in 
6Springfield; his parents were Rick and Pam (nee Nichols) 
7Sloman; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Luke Sloman graduated from Girard High School in 
92004; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Luke Sloman was employed with Senator Deanna 
11Demuzio's campaign and at Ameren Temp Services; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Luke Sloman loved all sports, including soccer, 
13baseball, and golf; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Luke Sloman was a member of Oak Leaf Country Club 
15and spent most of his time playing golf until he was unable to 
16play anymore; he looked forward to playing cards and watching 
17the golfers from inside the clubhouse in recent years; he was 
18also an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Boston Red Sox fan; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Luke Sloman is preceded in death by his

1grandparents, Bob and Betty Sloman, and an uncle, Rusty Sloman; 
2and
  
 
3    WHEREAS, Luke Sloman is survived by his parents; a brother, 
4Ryan (Sarah Hazelwood); 2 sisters, Kelsey (Kyle Dillon) and 
5Kristin (Taylor Hays); 3 nieces and nephews, Brenna, Hadley, 
6and Carter Sloman; his grandparents, Neal and Ruth Nichols; and 
7several aunts, uncles, and cousins; therefore, be it
  
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
10family and friends, mourn the passing of Luke A. Sloman; and be 
11it further
  
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
13presented to the family of Luke Sloman as an expression of our 
14sympathy.
