SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Edmund J. Joseph of East Peoria, who 
4passed away on October 4, 2014; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Edmund Joseph was born on July 16, 1924 in Peoria; 
6his parents were Nelson and Labeba (nee Mrad) Joseph; he 
7married Mary Jane Corey on July 12, 1960; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Edmund Joseph served his country as a member of 
9the United States Army from 1943 to 1946; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Edmund Joseph worked at his family's grocery 
11store, Joseph's Brothers Market, for his entire life until he 
12retired and the store was sold in 1986; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Edmund Joseph was a member of St. Monica's 
14Catholic Church in East Peoria, the Itoo Society, the Knights 
15of Columbus, and Ducks Unlimited; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Edmund Joseph was preceded in death by his parents 
17and a brother, Joe Joseph; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Edmund Joseph is survived by his wife, Mary Jane; 
193 children, Pamela (Dan) Kouri, Tammy Joseph, and Debra

1(Marcus) Weeks; and 6 grandchildren, Dan, Jr., Jennifer, 
2Joseph, and Louis Kouri, and Jacqueline and Joseph Weeks; 
3therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
6family and friends, mourn the passing of Edmund J. Joseph; and 
7be it further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to the family of Edmund Joseph as an expression of 
10our sympathy.
