2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Raymond R. Suste, who passed away on |
4 | | October 20, 2014; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Raymond Suste was born in Joliet and was a |
6 | | lifetime resident; his parents were Mary (nee Knezetich) and |
7 | | George Suste; and
|
8 | | WHEREAS, Raymond Suste served as a Staff Sergeant with the |
9 | | United States Army in Battalion F, 3rd Infantry Division in the |
10 | | Battle of the Bulge during World War II; and
|
11 | | WHEREAS, Raymond Suste retired from the United States Steel |
12 | | Corporation after 38 1/2 years of service; and
|
13 | | WHEREAS, Raymond Suste was a member and past president of |
14 | | the St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church Senior Club (formerly the |
15 | | Joannites) and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Cantigny |
16 | | Post #367; and
|
17 | | WHEREAS, Raymond Suste was an avid bowler; he also loved |
18 | | being in the sun, yard work, gardening, and fishing; and |
19 | | WHEREAS, Raymond Suste was preceded in death by his wife, |

1 | | Ann (nee Macko); his parents; 5 siblings, Lucille (the late |
2 | | Robert) Nasenbenny, Delores (the late Charles) Traven, |
3 | | Lorraine "Lori" (the late James) Maccono, John (the late Ann) |
4 | | Suste, and Joseph (the late Agnes) Suste; and a sister-in-law, |
5 | | Delores Suste; and

6 | | WHEREAS, Raymond Suste is survived by 7 children, Paula |
7 | | (James) Paris, Jeri (Denny) Moore, Ray Suste, Jr., Judy (Perry) |
8 | | Olin, Tim (Mary) Suste, Tom Suste, and Maribeth Suste-Williams; |
9 | | 11 grandchildren, Andrew (Kim) Flynn, Hayley, Aaron |
10 | | (Christine), Jason, Justin Olin, Nina (Matt) Bartels, Nolan |
11 | | Suste, Brandon (Christina) Suste, Torean Suste, Erica Kenney, |
12 | | and Scott Southcomb; and 4 great-grandchildren, Daviante, |
13 | | Gianna, Logan, and Julian; therefore, be it

14 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL |
15 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his |
16 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of Raymond R. Suste; and |
17 | | be it further

18 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
19 | | presented to the family of Raymond Suste as an expression of |
20 | | our sympathy.
