SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Patricia M. "Patsy" Kernan, who passed 
4away on May 26, 2014; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Patricia Kernan was born on May 20, 1924 in 
6Chicago; her parents were Edwin and Rose O'Neill; she married 
7Jack "Muddy" Kernan in January of 1946; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Patricia Kernan was a 1938 graduate of Ascension 
9Elementary School and a 1942 graduate of Trinity High School; 
10and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Patricia Kernan was a homemaker and master 
12seamstress, creating countless memorable outfits for all 
13occasions for her family; after raising her kids, she worked 
14for several years as a dispatcher for the River Forest Police 
15Department; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Patricia Kernan enjoyed working with her creative 
17abilities and spent half the year sewing, crocheting, or 
18crafting Christmas presents for her family and friends; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Patricia Kernan was preceded in death by a 
20daughter, Bridget (Art) Hubbard; and

1    WHEREAS, Patricia Kernan is survived by her husband, Jack; 
23 children, Kathy Kernan (Milton Dudley), Jake (Gay Ann), and 
3Mike (Joan); 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and a 
4sister, Peggy (the late Bill) Gawne; therefore, be it
  
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her 
7family and friends, mourn the passing of Patricia M. "Patsy" 
8Kernan; and be it further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to the family of Patricia Kernan as an expression of 
11our sympathy.
