SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Regina Kuehn, who passed away on May 21,
42014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Regina Kuehn was born in Berlin, Germany; she was
6a 55-year resident of Oak Park; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Regina Kuehn and her husband, Heinz, not only
8endured and survived the final days of the Nazi regime in
9Berlin and the chaotic aftermath, but managed to pull off their
10wedding; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Regina Kuehn was an expert in Catholic liturgy and
12church architecture; she was also instrumental in the redesign
13of Ascension Church following the Second Vatican Council in the
14mid-1960s and served as a consultant for other area churches;
15and
 
16    WHEREAS, Regina Kuehn was preceded in death by her husband,
17Heinz Kuehn; a grandson, Marcel Fremont; a
18great-granddaughter, Ava Lindamood; her parents, Max and
19Elisabeth Nowak; and a brother, Wolfgang Nowak; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Regina Kuehn was the mother of Angelika, Birgitta

1(Brian MacHaffie), Clement (Elisabeth Angele), Christopher
2(Lynn Wesley), Veronica (Rick Fremont), and Gloria Harrington
3(Thomas Lunzer); the grandmother of Ellison Lindamood (Brian),
4Aaron Kuehn (Orchid), Erica Haczkiewicz, Nathan Fremont
5(Juliette Mizicko), Sara Kuehn, Stephen Kuehn (Jennifer
6Kolba), Kate Kuehn, Sophia Angele-Kuehn, and Johanna
7Angele-Kuehn; and great-grandmother of Christian, Buckminster,
8Sebastian and Evelyn; she is also survived by her friends,
9John, Andy, and Lito; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
12family and friends, mourn the passing of Regina Kuehn; and be
13it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Regina Kuehn as an expression of our
16sympathy.
